Fluorapatite, Chalcedony
Item number: MIN0094
Price: EUR 122.00
Unusual and an extraordinary interesting both side Fluorapatite and Chalcedony specimen from Cero de Mercado in Mexico. Quartz-Chalcedony-Martite brecciated matrix shows a great contrast with pretty yellow-green, gemmy with glassy luster, translucent crystals of Fluorapatite. Well terminated Fluorapatite crystals in front reach 1,5 cm. Hydrothermal influence can be seen by transition of quartz to light blueish chalcedony clumps. The bluish spherulitic Chalcedony on the back side fluorescents intensively yellow in short UV. Such Chalcedony formation is uncommon for Cerro de Mercado specimens.
Fluorapatite crystals are a secondary mineral in this Mexican iron deposit.
Nice and aesthetic specimen from Cerro de Mercado.
