Hand-polished garnet, not as tumbled stones
Garnet has been used as a gemstone since ancient times. Its name derives from the Greek granum (“grain”), referring to its seed-like shape. In the Middle Ages, garnet was also known as carbuncle—a term that included other deep red stones like spinel and ruby.
At TOP GEO, our garnets come from various localities and are not mass-produced as tumbled stones. Instead, they are carefully hand-polished in our own workshop. Each stone is individually photographed – you will receive exactly the specimen shown.
